What a wonderful account. It sure does sound like your Grandpa has a sense of humor. Thank you so much for telling us about his continued presence in your family's cabin. I have known quite a few instances of animals being extremely sensitive to spirit activity. I've also experienced, twice now, instances of one pet (cats in this case) seeming to "channel" another. When my Fen died, his sweetheart Vogue, would suddenly call out in his voice. Their voices were very different -- he had that loud, deep classic Siamese yowl, and her voice was high pitched, "chirpy". In fact her nickname was "Sparrow" because of her little voice. It was quite startling to see her open her mouth and have Fen's MERROWWWWW come out of it! Then, after my dear Pree, who had a little scratchy gravelly voice, passed away, for a while her mother Sachet would be walking through the house and we'd hear Pree's very distinct voice coming from her. My mom kept the house so the family could continue to use it. About 23 years ago my younger brother rented the house out to a couple with a little boy. One day the dad and the boy (I think he was about 3 or 4 years old at the time)were going to take an afternoon nap. The dad fell asleep, and I don't know about the little boy, but when the dad woke up the boy told him that when he was sleeping there was a man flying around the room. A few minutes later the little boy walked up to the picture of my grandpa on the end table and said "This was the man who was flying around the room". The man called my brother right away to tell him about it, and hasn't been back since! We have noticed strange behavior in our pets when we take them to the cabin. My husband and I took our first collie, Sundance, up there one year. He was laying on the couch sleeping when he suddenly bolted off the couch, as though somebody poked him in the butt, and then stood there looking up at the ceiling. Grandpa didn't allow animals on the couch! My brother and his wife took their 3 cats and dog (now deceased) there and more than once all the cats were lined up and staring at the ceiling with their heads turning in unison. Recently my brother took his new puppy there and he was laying on the floor chewing on a toy when he did pretty much the same as Sundance, just suddenly bolted across the floor as though somebody poked him in the butt. Then he stood behind the recliner cautiously staring out at the ceiling. We're convinced. Grandpa is still around! Hi Gayle,

The shadow apparition I saw was, in fact, quite comforting. It's occurred to me several times that in the last three incidents, since moving, they were startling and inconvenient, but no real damage was done. The fact that the crutches landed so I could retrieve both without having to leave the deck even makes me smile a bit. There was no other combination of landing patterns that would have achieved quite that "just on the edge of impossible" effect. Did your grandmother ever tell you who the two women were? How strange!
