It's ME, Mavvy!

I'm a little bunny, in case you couldn't tell! My mom's name is Marinell, and my dad's name is Little Victory. So my HumanKid, Jess, put the sounds together and named me Maverick (Mavvy for short). I'm a Netherland Dwarf rabbit, and my pretty color is called Himalayan. My mom is a Himalayan, too, but my dad's color is called Siamese Sable.

I was born on January 28th, 1999. My mom only had one baby, so, since Dwarf rabbits do better when they have litter mates, I was fostered to Gabby. My foster-mom also had a new baby, so my foster brother and I were raised as litter mates. Both he and my foster-mom are Siamese Sable in color, like my dad. So I was the white bunny of the family! That's nothing like the black sheep of the family, though, don't worry!

My grandpa is a Siamese Sable rabbit named Heavy Hitter. Heavy Hitter is a top winning ShowBunny, like my dad. My breeder says that I look like I might be show quality, too. I'm not too sure, but I think that means I'm really, really cute! (MommaGayle says, "Yes, Mavvy, that's right, you are definitely really, really cute!") MommaGayle says they might show me a little, but mainly I'm to be a pet bunny, and get lots of loves and snuggles and cuddles and attention.

I can deal with that. Cuddles and snuggles are cool, 'specially when I get my head rubbed!

The House Rabbit Society: While we do not agree with the House Rabbit Society's strong anti-breeder stance, there is still a lot of very good rabbit care information on this site, so it's worth listing. They also promote the idea of seeing rabbits as living souls worthy of respect and love.
The Herbal Rabbit list on YahooGroups: A discussion list on YahooGroups that has open message archives that anyone can search, or you can join to enjoy the photos, files, and other benefits of the list. There is a lot of good information on this list for anyone with the patience to search the archives, and who is interested in more natural care of pet rabbits.
