To Keep You Posted….
If you follow my Facebook or Twitter updates, you’re very likely already aware that my leg has “bloomed” badly again, and I’m therefore facing a health situation different from what I went through in 2008 only in that now we know what we’re dealing with. Or at least we think we know. Continue reading

Creature Thoughts, July 2011
Has “Chuck”, whom we believe we’ve seen around here quite a few times since his release, returned to visit with this year’s occupants of his old home? This single Grackle certainly spends a lot of time just looking into the cage and vocalizing (a.k.a. “saying his name”, almost as if introducing himself). Continue reading
Creature Thoughts, June 2011
The big news is, of course, the release of my new book in e-book format. Through Their Eyes was an idea that began quite a long time ago, actually. As I worked with many different animals it became more and more obvious to me that they often give so much, and give up so much, to be a part of our lives. I would visit and revisit different problems again and again, and although each animal is unique and each situation different, certain underlying themes always seemed to wind through their stories. One thing that gradually grew more and more clear was that, when encountering “problems” in our pets, we are often dealing with the pets’ own struggle to override their natural instincts. Long-time professional animal communicator, Gayle Nastasi, helps people to overcome problems with their animal friends every day. In Through Their Eyes, she presents common problems that pet owners face, from a different perspective — the animal’s own.
Follow specific situations, real-life examples, and excerpts from Gayle’s free email newsletter, as you learn to see pet problems from the pet’s point of view. As you learn to view things from your animal’s viewpoint, you will not only understand them better, you will deepen the wonderful relationship you already have with them. Continue reading

Creature Thoughts: March 2011
We often hear about various things that, it is said, set human beings apart from other animals. One of those, supposedly, is the ability to reason. Another is the ability to use language to communicate. Some say it is the fact that humans are self-aware. A fourth reason, among many, I have heard is that adult humans continue to “play” well beyond childhood.
Anyone who’s ever shared family space with non-human animals is chuckling right now, and trying not to make the scientists who say such things feel too inferior. As a matter of fact, I’ve known quite a few animals who could probably teach us (myself included) a thing or two about all of the above. Continue reading
Creature Thoughts February 2011
Every month I do two very regular things in the “blog world”. I put out my monthly Creature Thoughts newsletter, and I write a post to participate in the RAOKA (Random Acts of Kick Arse) movement. This past month, the theme for RAOKA was “New Beginnings”, chosen by Zeenat of Positive Provocations. This month, also, I have been completely wrapped up in the rescue of 100 llamas from the Montana Large Animal Sanctuary, which shut down and abandoned the animals to the elements. Continue reading
