In Memory Of
Ch Khalil Aboud of Moonlyte
1/30/90 - 5/28/99 |
The eyes are his, but the pain is mine. His is gone now. "Fen" came to us in 1992, and for several years was our stud cat at Moonlyte Siamese. Various "life circumstances" forced our cattery to close, but the girls and Fen remained with us as beloved (neutered) pets. Cancer took our Fen from us at the far-too-young age of nine.
Fen left a legacy behind, having sired several litters. His kittens live on, each a little piece of him, in their loving homes. They bring joy to their families, and that is a fine legacy indeed. Very fitting for a boy who brought our own family so much joy.

This is Fen cuddled up with his best pal, Vogue. Together they prove what all cats have known throughout the ages: a cardboard box is never "too full".
Fen's sweet temperament, and often his vociferous "Meow!", were passed along to his babies. He was known for that voice by friends from all parts of the country, all ends of the earth. Rare was the phone call I could complete in peace and quiet with Fen nearby demanding to say Hello. In fact, I often wondered if some friends really called me as an excuse to hear from Fen. He was all muscle, mouth and love. | |

 | Fen and his Mom. It's difficult to get a good photo of a red-point, colors always wash out. And there are no existing pictures that show the true purple-blue color of his wonderful eyes. "Lady Killer" eyes, I called them. Even the brilliant blue in the photo at the top of this page does not do them justice. But that is okay ... for Fen's was a blue that no one will ever forget. They remain vivid in my mind and will do so forever.
He wasn't really thrilled about having his picture taken. Not a bit of vanity in his body.
What that body had plenty of was muscle. He was the most solid cat I've ever owned. If you look at the photo of Mackenzie, below, you can see that he passed that muscle along, too. |

 The Legacy
A montage of some of Fen's children. Clockwise from top left: Sascha (chocolate point male, out of Sachet, who returned home to us after his life-time owner passed away); Kama (seal point male, out of Sachet); "Air Raid" (the kitten's real name was "Bayberry", but he inherited his Daddy's fantabulous "Pure Siamese" voice. Red point male, out of Pree); Samantha and Jasmine (seal tortie point females, out of Pree), Mackenzie (red point male, out of Vogue); Jeffrey and Rosebud (red point male and female, out of Pree). It must seem like Pree had a "slew" of litters by Fen. However, Samantha, Air Raid, Jeffrey and Rosebud are all litter mates. (Pictures of the mothers of these kittens can be found on the Four-Leggeds Page.)

Goodbye my pink-cheeked, blue-eyed muscle-boy. Fly high, fly far, and may we meet again some day. I love you. |

With thanks to Elton John, for his wonderful song "Blue Eyes".
