Poem: Magic

(c) 1993, Gayle P. Nastasi (September 21)

A silver strand of starlight weaves between us
Like a magical web, bonding and binding
Strengthening our spirits and the magic within
Spiraling ever outward

The farthest reaches of the Universe
The nucleus of every atom
Bound with the living spark of magic
That circles on and on

To tap that magic is a gift unbounded
Precious to heart and spirit
A rare and sparkling gem
Glowing among the night sky’s embers

The brightest star, the moon and sun
Can only reflect the light of the magic
Uniting us one with another
And with the Universe itself

The magic like the starlight
Knows no limits of time or space
Ever spiraling, ever growing
There is nothing impossible in its path

Grasp that silver strand
Hold the starlight in your palm
Let it caress you with its spark
And light your heart with its love

Dance among the burning embers
Of a thousand years of past and future
Feel the kiss of the wind
Gaze into the eyes of the starfilled heavens

Never doubt the strength of the power
Never try to limit its scope
The magic breathes the breath of wonder
The key to dreams come true
