Moonlyte's Sachet So home she came, sucking her tail for security, and despite my fears, she did just fine. She bonded with the children, even baby Devon, and had no problem adjusting to the other cat, Merlin, or Yoda, our Saluki. Sachet's favorite baby game was to play with Devon's toy piano. She'd bang on the keys and try to catch the little cartoon characters that would pop out of the top as each key was pressed.

Friendly and inquisitive, Sachet had brilliant health, intelligence, a wonderful personality that, later on, we would decide should be carried on to a next generation. Our plans to start breeding Siamese were begun by this lovely little girl who moved into our home and stole our hearts.... As well as toys, clothing, socks, food.... She is a Siamese, after all! Her investigative nature led to some interesting adventures, including the consumption of the sleeves and bottoms of several of her daddy's favorite jackets, including his best dress suit! |

Motherhood Pree and Sachet are still very best friends today. Daddy Joe calls them "The Misery Sisters". |

Of all our three kitties, the now sixteen year old Sachet was, for some time, the least social, but in recent years that has changed. Now, if you sit down, she wants to be in your lap so she can suck her tail. Yes, at age sixteen, she still sucks her tail ... her only holdover from being taken from her mommy too young. A favorite hang-out of Sachet's is the bathroom, and I often wonder if it's the ease of ambushing unsuspecting potty-goers which makes that her lair of choice. She sleeps atop the linen cabinet, way up near the ceiling, and daughter Pree can often be found up there with her. The two girls are inseparable, but Sachet is none too crazy about the son (prodigal or otherwise) who returned home as a "much larger than her" adult several years ago. |

Teenage Kitten Although she's sixteen years old, Sachet plays and acts like a kitten most of the time. Her coat is silky and soft, she's active, a wonderful hunter (just ask the mice who try to get in the house!), and we're all hoping that she is going to be one of those legendary Siamese cats who live well into their twenties. Well, we of course hope that about all the cats in the Nastasi household. Sachet is our senior queen, our foundation as the breeders say, and even though she has been spayed for many years and is a happy, pampered pet, we have a lot to be thankful to her for. She's greatly loved, and gives and has given us so very much in return. |
