Our Precious Pree
Our animals have always been an important part of our family. When my husband proposed, in fact, my response was, “Okay, but you have to take the animals, too.”
We started out as a Nastasi Family with Yoda, my precious heart-dog, the Siamese Linus, and dear Merlin, our black and white tuxedo cat who was nicknamed “Trouble”. Many have come and gone since … sadly, too many have gone in the past few years. Most of our dedication pages here, therefore, will be memorial pages.
These tributes can be found in the drop-down menu (“Select Category”) on the right side of the page, under the label “In Memory”.
The current members of our pet family are Kai the Saluki and Missie, a black-smoke kitty my Dad adopted from our local no-kill shelter. Our lives have changed dramatically in the past year, as Dad passed away and three-fourths of our human family moved into his house (next door to ours). My daughter and her boyfriend live in the old house with Sasha, who is going on eighteen and very much still a presence in our lives. You may read their stories on the “Current Pets” pages linked below, or in the right side menu. Watch for Missie’s page very soon.
In addition to the cat and dog, we have a house full of birds. Stars and Stripes are rescued Starlings, and our rescued House Sparrow is French Fry. Watch for their entries soon!
As a wildlife rehabilitator, I’ll have various birds coming in and out all season, and I hope to keep you up to date on that activity in the Photos, Phlowers, Phur and Phun blog.
In addition to reading each of the animals’ pages, feel free to leave them a message in the comment field at the bottom of each page. Yes, those who’ve passed as well, if you wish.
Enjoy!
